On March 17, FILMART 2026, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), officially opened at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As a pioneer in taking Chinese animation to the global stage, Zoland Animation (Booth No. 1B-F02), in collaboration with the Zhejiang Digital Culture International Cooperation Zone, showcased a range of high-quality new animation and film & TV productions at the Hangzhou Pavilion, marking its return to the event. The exhibition will run until March 20.
In this year’s exhibition, in addition to original classical IPs including Magic Eye is Back and Rubi and Yoyo, Zoland Animation also presented the new flagship work Big Head & Magic Eye: Journeying into the Future Together, co-produced with CCTV Animation Group. Building on the stories of its classic IPs, the film incorporates sci-fi and adventure elements, bringing together two beloved Chinese IPs, Big Head and Magic Eye, in a crossover that expands their appeal to new audiences. Through a fresh storytelling perspective, the film explores the power of family bonds, companionship, and personal growth. Scheduled for release in 2026, the film will also be available for pre-sale cooperation opportunities with global buyers during this year’s FILMART.
In addition to its new animated works, Zoland Animation also presented Mostly Sunny, which it participated in producing. This film was directed by Shujun Wei and produced by Caitao Wang. Featuring Xiaoming Huang in the lead role, alongside Xiaofen Lu and Feng Zu, with special appearances by Qi Zhang and Fan Liao, the film has earned widespread acclaim for its high-quality production and heartwarming narrative centred on emotional healing and human connection.
As the leading representative distribution organisation, Zoland Animation presented two high-quality new animated series, Jili and Gulu (Season 1-5) and The Sage Boy: Liu Bowen's Legend. Jili and Gulu (Season 1-5) is an educational animation produced by Le-cool. With its heartwarming and cute style, it conveys the meaning of kindness, courage and teamwork. The Sage Boy: Liu Bowen's Legend was produced by the Publicity Department of the Publicity Department of the CPC Wencheng County Committee. Through the legendary journey of young Bowen Liu, who combats evil and champions justice, the animation brings Bowen culture and the region’s rich historical heritage to life, blending compelling storytelling with meaningful cultural value.
With the support of Zoland Animation’s overseas distribution platform and its 600,000-minute content library, the company will take this exhibition as an opportunity to expand international partnerships through FILMART, one of Asia’s leading platforms for film and TV content trading. Zoland Animation aims to bring more high-quality Chinese animated productions to overseas markets and showcase the creativity and cultural appeal of Chinese animation.
