Zoland Animation: Bringing Chinese Stories to the World Through Digital Culture in the Digital Era
September 03, 2024

Throughout its more than two-decade history, Zoland Animation has remained committed to the branding, industrialisation, and internationalisation of Chinese animation. It has created 25 original animated series and 61 animated titles, totalling more than 170,000 minutes of content. Its productions have received over 230 domestic and international awards and have been distributed through broadcasting networks in more than 130 countries and regions. Since 2007, Zoland Animation has been listed as a National Cultural Export Key Enterprise for 18 consecutive years.

Adhering to a Culture-Led Approach. From its first animation, Magic Eye, Magic Wonderland, and Rubi and Yoyo to the first Five One Project winner, Zheng He’s Voyages, and the latest flagship productions, Legendary Su Dongpo and Legend of King Qian, Zoland Animation continues to create high-quality original animated productions and cultivate premium animation IPs. Since first participating in overseas exhibitions in 2005, Zoland Animation has maintained its global expansion journey for 20 consecutive years. Starting with FILMART in March, Legendary Su Dongpo will be shown in more than 20 overseas exhibitions. It aims to tell China’s stories with digital technology and promote global expansion with an international voice.

Adhering to Digital Empowerment. Zoland Animation is dedicated to building a digital cultural trade platform that empowers small and medium-sized digital cultural enterprises to join forces and expand globally. In September 2021, supported and guided by related government departments, “Zhejiang Digital Culture International Cooperation Zone,” applied for and operated by Zoland Animation, was successfully approved as one of the second batch of National Cultural Export Bases. Relying on the development of the cooperation zone, Zoland Animation is actively promoting the construction of the “510 Integrated Development Project” and contributing to the “Five Systems”, i.e., digitalisation, standardisation, industrialisation, integration and internationalisation. It is also establishing the “Ten Platforms” and improving the quality and efficiency of the digital cultural industry and trade.

Among the projects run by Zoland Animation, “Zhejiang One” AI Performance Animation Digital Studio and “Copyright Pin” Blockchain Digital Cultural Copyright Protection Platform Establish digital cultural trade infrastructure. Moreover, both have been selected as Innovative Practice Cases of National Cultural Export Bases, the second batch. Zoland Digital Cultural Trade Platform and “Copyright Pin” jointly developed a new dual-channel “Digital Assets+ IP” model for global expansion. Powered by the AI large language model, the METai Audiovisual Dubbing Platform helps overcome the language barrier in digital content exports and provides a secure and convenient trade environment. With the vision of “China’s Stories, Digital Empowerment, International Voice, Global Expansion” and relying on the development of the National Cultural Export Base, Zoland Animation will further drive the high-quality collaborative development of the digital cultural industry and trade.
