A Journey of Animation! Zoland Animation Attends the Annecy International Animation Festival in France, with Chairwoman Wu Jia Delivering a Keynote Presentation
From June 11 to 15, local time, the 2024 Annecy International Animation Festival was held in France. Zoland Animation made its appearance at the China Joint Pavilion, and Wu Jia, Chairwoman of Zoland Animation, participated and delivered a themed presentation, showcasing the unique charm and innovative strength of Chinese animation to the international animation community.
Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, on June 12, local time, during the MIFA market of the Annecy International Animation Festival, the "When Mountains and Seas Meet, Beauty in Harmony" China Outstanding Animation Showcase was successfully held. The event was guided by the Information Office of the State Council and the National Radio and Television Administration, organized by the China Animation Association, and hosted by CCTV Animation Group.
At the promotion event, Wu Jia, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Zhongnan Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Chairwoman of Zoland Animation, delivered a brilliant keynote speech and recommended Zoland Animation's new masterpiece, *Legendary Su Dongpo*.
Su Dongpo and France share a deep connection: in 2000, the French newspaper Le Monde organized a selection of "Heroes of the Millennium" from the years 1001 to 2000, and Su Dongpo was the only Asian figure to be included. Zoland Animation's Legendary Su Dongpo is set against the backdrop of Song dynasty culture and revolves around the life of this outstanding figure in classical Chinese literature and politics.
Through innovative and compelling storytelling, in-depth exploration of historical narratives, and the skillful use of modern digital animation technology, Zoland Animation vividly brings to life Su Dongpo's extraordinary charisma and rich cultural depth. The work conveys his admirable qualities—humility, optimism, and kindness—while reflecting traditional Chinese values such as dedication and friendship. In addition, Zoland Animation has launched a line of Su Dongpo–themed merchandise, including tea, badges, and vintage-style bags, with the aim of introducing products infused with Chinese cultural elements to the world in more diverse forms.
At the China Joint Pavilion of the Annecy International Animation Festival, Zoland Animation presented a range of original classic IP animations, including Legendary Su Dongpo, Magic Eye Is Back, Rubi, and Half-God Realm, along with represented titles such as Niu Naitang No. 23 Season 2. Each work tells a compelling story, conveying the unique charm of Chinese culture and earning wide recognition from international peers. Clients from various countries and regions engaged in in-depth exchanges with Zoland Animation, showing strong interest in several of its titles. The booth featured not only dedicated business meeting areas but also interactive photo zones, allowing visitors to experience the distinctive allure of Chinese culture up close.
Zoland Animation will continue to root itself in the animation industry, expand its overseas presence through multiple channels, actively grow its global network of partners, and consistently make appearances at international exhibitions. By showcasing the achievements of China's animation industry both online and offline, the company remains committed to telling China's stories to the world.
It is reported that the Annecy International Animation Festival in France is the oldest among the world's four major international animation festivals. Since its inception in 1960, it has held 48 editions to date. Each year, it screens the world's top animated works, attracting animation professionals and enthusiasts from around the globe, and enjoys the reputation of the "Oscars of animation."
