The Annecy International Animation Festival in France, renowned as the "Oscars of Animation," will be held in June 2024 in Annecy, France. Setting sail at the right time, Zoland Animation will make its appearance at the "China Joint Pavilion." At the concurrently held "China Outstanding Animation Showcase," Wu Jia, Executive Vice President of Zhejiang Zhongnan Holding Group Co., Ltd. and Chairwoman of Zoland Animation, will deliver a keynote speech, presenting the unique charm of Chinese animation to the world!
As announced in the lineup for the "China Outstanding Animation Showcase" at the 2024 Annecy International Animation Festival in France, outstanding animated works from 11 institutions – including Zoland Animation's Legendary Su Dongpo – will be prominently featured as representatives of China's finest animation. In addition, Zoland Animation's popular original titles Magic Eye Is Back, Rubi, and Half-God Realm will also be presented at the exhibition booth.
Legendary Su Dongpo covers the stories of Su Dongpo during his two tenures in Hangzhou, conveying his admirable qualities of humility, optimism, and kindness while embodying traditional Chinese values such as dedication and friendship. The work taps into the local Song dynasty culture of Zhejiang, characterized by its "unique charm where history and reality converge," and continually polishes Zhejiang's cultural "golden name card." Using modern digital animation techniques, it vividly portrays Su Dongpo's charismatic personality. The series has been successfully selected as a key project under the "Chinese Classical Folklore Animation Creation Project" supported by the National Radio and Television Administration.
The Annecy International Animation Festival in France is widely recognized as a benchmark in the global animation industry, ranking among the largest, most prestigious, and most widely attended professional animation festivals in the world. During the 2024 edition, the "China Outstanding Animation Showcase," guided by the State Council Information Office and the National Radio and Television Administration, organized by the China Animation Association, and hosted by CCTV Animation Group, will present a distinctive cultural feast and artistic journey to the global animation community.
