A New Milestone in Global Distribution: Zoland Animation’s YouTube Japan Channel Surpassed 200,000 Views on Its First Day of Release.
October 14, 2026

On October 9th 2026, the original 2D animation The Otherworldly Beast Tamer, produced by the Zhejiang Digital Cultural Cooperation Zone, a National Cultural Export Base, was released on the YouTube account Otherworldly Animation-Rubi Anime. It quickly drove a surge in views in Japan.

24 hours after the release, the video surpassed 200,000 views, with an average view duration of 17.5 minutes and over 35,000 hours of watch time. It also gained more than 2,000 subscribers in a single day, meeting YouTube Partner Program (YPP) monetisation eligibility requirements in one go.

A Stunning First Day: From Zero to Viral at Breakneck Speed

For a new account with no fans, such buzz is incredibly rare. Generally, to meet the YPP monetisation eligibility requirements, an independent animation account needs to continuously post videos for six to eighteen months. Many creators struggle to get more than a few hundred to a few thousand views on a single video even after six months. Yet Rubi Anime’s debut video, The Otherworldly Beast Tamer, achieved within just 24 hours what ordinary new channels might take months or even a year to accomplish.

Its achievement is significant compared to counterpart channels. For established anime channels, a hit episode typically generates 50,000 to 120,000 views, 3,000 to 8,000 hours of watch time, and 300 to 800 new subscribers within the first 24 hours of release. Rubi Anime’s debut video achieved more than twice the typical view count, approximately 4 to 10 times the watch time, and around 2.5 times the subscriber growth, while also achieving a higher subscriber conversion rate.

Positive Audience Feedback Validates AI Animation Quality

The story follows Shin Kamiya, a zookeeper who has spent twenty years caring for dangerous animals. On a stormy night, he is reincarnated in another world. Although his magic aptitude is measured at zero, his two decades of experience give him the ability to read the eyes of ferocious beasts, predict their movements, and sense the presence of territorial rulers. The swordswoman Liz tells him, “I want your eyes.” Meanwhile, all he quietly dreams of is retirement.

Viewers praised the quality of the AI-generated anime. One commenter wrote, “The quality is amazing for an AI anime.” Others expressed their hope that the series would continue, while some remarked that it was “surprisingly entertaining.”

By the fourth day after its release, the video had reached 406,000 views and accumulated 128,000 hours of watch time. From its explosive debut to sustained growth, Rubi Anime’s first release has demonstrated the enormous potential of high-quality original 2D animation in the Japanese market.

Looking ahead, Zoland Animation will continue to develop more anime series centered on the isekai genre, further strengthening its presence in Japan. Through a consistent release schedule and continuously refined content, the company aims to reward overseas audiences for their enthusiasm for following anime series.

The series is featured on Rubi Anime, a new YouTube channel launched by Zoland Animation specifically for the Japanese market. The channel will continue to release anime content related to the isekai genre.
